“N Srinivasan will not be attending the meeting of Board’s working committee,” says the interim president of BCCI, Jagmohan Dalmiya. Meeting is scheduled to be held on 28th July and the stepped aside president is not going to be taking part in that. Srinivasan was under some serious pressure after his son-in-law was arrested a couple of months back on the grounds of spot fixing and gambling, but as of now he has been granted the bail.
Earlier this week, Rajasthan Royals Captain Rahul Dravid was made a prosecution- witness in the matter of spot-fixing came in. Dravid said in his statement that he felt cheated by the doings of the three cricketers, including S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, who were arrested in this case.
Dalmiya was quoted by Indian Express saying, "I really feel for him. It's unfortunate... A player of Dravid's calibre had to endure something like that. ACSU chief Ravi Sawani's report relating to Sreesanth will also be tabled.”
Meanwhile the recent reports published in Deccan Herald said that, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) announced that Eden Gardens would host the under-19 Vinoo Mankad zonal leg from October 20-28.
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty 20 meet will also be held here, while the zonal leg will be played from April 1-5, the super league-cum-knockout stage will be from April 8-13.
