T20 cricket has always been about “expect the unexpected” and this time it is being said because of the three Indian cricketers are pinned down in the shameful incident of spot-fixing. Former Indian batsmen, Sunil Gavaskar has termed this incident as shocking one and also demanded strict action against them if they found guilty.
The Little Master was quoted by Indian Express saying, “Sreesanth has never been a popular member of Indian squad and whatever he has done till now looks to me more of an attention seeker. I can understand the plight of his parents as their son has been out of the action for quite a sometime because of some surgeries.”
Gavaskar was quoted by Times of India saying, “Allegations made by Sreesanth’s father against MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh is baseless as their son is out of the Indian team from past two years or so. He has been out of the Indian team not because of Dhoni but because of his behaviour, that’s why all these allegations are nothing but nonsense. According to me, a person who is “a bit of distraction” for the team should be kept out of the dressing room.”
According to the recent reports of Hindustan Times, Gavaskar was quoted saying, “IPL is already a great stage for the youngsters and everybody to showcase their skills and get good rewards for that and doing such a shameful thing is something that doesn’t make much sense. I have never found anything fishy in IPL since its inception in 2008.”
