Chennai Super Kings have an upper hand in finals of Indian premier League, says the wicket-keeping batsman, Dinesh Karthik. He made it clear that experience of playing crunch games makes CSK a tough side to beat. However, Mumbai Indians would be looking to bag their first IPL trophy this time, said Karthik.
Karthik was quoted by Indian Express saying, "It is clash of the titans and there is no doubt about it. Both the teams have played some good cricket so far and it’s going to be a cracking final. CSK do have an edge as they have been in this scenario more frequently than us.”
Wicket-keeping batsman was quoted by Times of India saying, “We did feel a bit of hick-ups in the last match against Rajasthan Royals while chasing down the target of 166 but that mistake won’t happen in the final.”
He went onto say, “We should have finished that game quite easily as we needed just 41 runs from six overs with nine wickets in hand. It was a wake-up call for all of us that on which aspects we have to still work out."
Dinesh Karthik was quoted by DNA saying, “Sachin Tendulkar is a gem of a person and it’s very sad that we are missing his services. But the joy on his face after we won the match against RR says it all. He is not just a great batsmen but an inspirational character too.”
“He is an epitome of inspiration and his cricketing knowledge makes him the real master of this game. As of now, no decision has been taken on his fitness but by the morning of May 26, picture would be much clearer on his injury," he said.
As per the recent reports of Indian Express, Karthik said, "This is my first final and I am quite excited about it. We have few senior players around which add loads of strength to our squad.”
Karthik added, "Curator has done some fantastic job as the wicket played really well at Eden Gardens, it was offering much more bounce than expected. On such tracks, you can expect a score 0f 160-170 runs to be chased quite easily and it not just assist batsmen but also have something for bowlers.”
