It is demoralizing to hear people talking about regionalism: Gavaskar

Little Master Sunil Gavaskar feels that it is time people get over scepticisms that they have in their mind and also said it is demoralizing to hear of talks of regionalism.

Batting legend was quoted by Indian Express saying, “It’s very disheartening that the people across the country feels that this case of betting and fixing will go haywire if judges from the south will handle it. “

He went onto say that, “We don’t have Indian coaches because he might give preference to his state, and having such kind of a mind-set is not going to take us anywhere. It is utter nonsense to have such a psychology like this.”

The two judges appointed by the BCCI are retired High Court judges Justice T Jayaram Chouta, former judge of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu High Courts, and Justice R Balasubramanian, former judge of Tamil Nadu High Court.

He was quoted by Times of India saying, "It’s ridiculous to doubt the credibility of these two judges who are probing the case of Gurunath Meiyappa. Just because one of the members of BCCI is there in the committee of three, doesn’t mean that BCCI Chief, N Srinivasan has stepped down after all the controversies.”
