“I am happy to be out of this polluted environment of BCCI and I am not even looking forward to resume my term at any cost,” says Sanjay Jagdale. He feels that these scams of corruption has done enough damage to image of Indian cricket and it needs to be washed away as soon as possible.
He was quoted by Indian Express saying, "I am not even looking at the possibility of coming back into the BCCI fold. I think I am done with my innings. It was my personal decision to quit and not to force BCCI Chief. The way cricket has been polluted is just not acceptable; they should not be allowed to simply dust it under the carpet rather a proper investigation probe is to be made.”
Sanjay Jagdale and Ajay Shirke had stepped down from their respective posts on Friday which has also raised the questions on BCCI Chef, N Srinivasan, who is looking quite adamant regarding these issues and is not ready to quit from the post of BCCI-President.
Jagdale was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, "The spot-fixing and betting scandal in the IPL has badly dented the image of cricket. A massive clean-up job is required to overcome this. But this will take time as the damage done is very big. It is very difficult to stop fixing in cricket and BCCI has its own limitations. But the Board can strengthen its surveillance and curb the menace of fixing. At the same time, the BCCI will have to take strict action against cricketers who are found guilty."
He made it quite clear that it’s now up to BCCI that how they restore the faith of cricketing fans; that had been cheated by the tainted cricketers and corrupt officials. He was quoted by DNA saying, "To earn the faith of fans, the BCCI administrators will have to show determination and work as a unit. If Sreesanth decides to put a towel in his trousers and bowl a fixed over, RTI cannot help.”
He added, "Delhi Commonwealth Games were held with the Sports Ministry at the helm. The Sports Minister was directly attached to the organisation. I don't need to say much on what happened during that time."
"I don't want to be a part of it because I am not comfortable with the idea. I am not directly related to IPL and only those who have been part of this IPL organisation should be kept in this inquiry commission," he concluded.
