Pakistan will be playing their upcoming games under pressure, says skipper of Pakistan Misbah-ul-Haq. Pakistan have to win the next two games to keep themselves in hunt in this tournament and they have a tough task of beating South Africa whom they will be playing against at Edgbaston on Monday.
Pakistan and South- Africa have lost their opening games and they need to win this crucial game to remain in the contention for the semi-finals.
Pakistani skipper was quoted by Indian Express saying, "It's not a new story for us. In South Africa, we were in a similar situation in the ODI series, when we had to win the fourth ODI and our team did exceptionally well with that.”
"The best thing you can do is to take it game by game, and tomorrow is a game you just need to win. Go there, do your best, and I think when you go there and try to do your best, the results are in your favour most of the time," Misbah said.
Both the teams know each other quite well and would be looking to make the most of their strengths and weaknesses. Both the teams have chalked out certain strategies to make sure that they go upbeat in this match.
Misbah was quoted by Times of India saying, "I think both the teams know each other very well. I think we did well in ODIs, especially in South Africa. So the players are confident against them. I think it will be a good contest if we just play up to our potential and then we have a good chance.”
Misbah added, “Missing the services of leading pace bowlers like Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel is huge blow for South Africa but that is where we get the psychological advantage. But we are not much focused on that part as proteas still have a very good side to outclass any team."
He concluded by saying, “Their strength lies in their batting and our lies in bowling. So we need to play our heart out to overpower them in this knock-out game of the tournament.”
