I am disappointed with our batting performance: Bravo

“I am disappointed with our batting performance,” said Dwayne Bravo after West Indies lost the match by eight wickets against India in the ICC Champions Trophy match at Oval on Tuesday. He slammed them by saying that after getting such a good start they should have kept on going.

Bravo was quoted by Times of India saying, "Our batsmen have to take the blame for this. Another 25 runs could have made a difference. Most of us played bad shots at the wrong time and I am a part of that."

Darren Sammy and Jason Charles made valuable contribution but it was the fragile middle-order which was responsible for such an under-par performance. He added, "It's not that Sammy was trying to prove anything. He played his natural game and I am very happy for him.”

The West Indian skipper was quoted by DNA saying, "We keep losing games in the middle. We need to address this issue and recover as a batting group before our next match.” West Indies will play the decider against South Africa on 14th in Cardiff that will determine which team would be progressing towards the semis.

“But yes, I am not so happy with my cousin Darren Bravo who played a ridiculous shot. It was one of the worst knocks he played and he has been spoken to. But with wickets falling around him, you can't blame him.” Darren scored 35 off 83 balls while wickets were tumbling from the other end.

Meanwhile, Bravo was quoted by Indian Express saying, "Our destiny is in our own hands. It's going to be a final for us and it's possible and I know we have the team to make the second round. I hope against South Africa our batting will be at its very best.”
