I hope me and Vijay will do the same as Sehwag and Gambhir did in the past: Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan was looking in good touch on the final day of practice session and he is confident enough to replicate the success of duo of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag. Dhawan has played with Murali Vijay in an Irani-Trophy match. India’s most successful duo has not done justice to their talent and that’s why the doors have been shown to them.

According to the recent reports of Times of India Shikhar Dhawan was quoted saying , "Both Viru and Gauti had played some sensational knocks and I hope me and Vijay will do the same in the upcoming Test."

He went on to add, "I have spoken to Viru paaji about how to tackle the Aussie pace bowlers and have tried to learn some lessons from him”

The 27 year old dashing opener was quoted by Deccan Chronicle saying ,“I also observed Sachin Tendulkar batting at the nets and could learn a few things by simply watching him during his training. I was happy to know that I have been roped in for the third Test and it was a very special moment for me when Coach Duncan Fletcher came to tell me.”

Dhawan was hitting the right note quite frequently and the best came in when he was asked about his opening partner Murali Vijay. He added, “Co-ordination and running between the wickets will be very crucial and that innings in Irani Trophy will come in handy.”

As per the reports of The Hindu, Dhawan is pleased to have entered the Test arena, the pinnacle of international cricket, after years of slog in the domestic circuit. He was quoted saying that, "I have no pressure whatsoever and my form in domestic circuit gives me a lot of boost. Obviously, there is a bit of nerves, but it's something I believe is good to have," he said.

Dhawan was looking very determined as he said, "Tough situation makes you tough and keeps you ready to grow from strength to strength. I have that maturity and patience that can help me to make it big at International level. I am, looking forward to future prospects and we will be back with the same spark which we had showed in first two tests.”
