Sunrisers Hyderabad to miss Shikhar Dhawan’s services in their opening IPL match

Sunrisers Hyderabad will miss out their key player Shikhar Dhawan for their opening match against Pune Warriors on 5th April. Shikhar Dhawan’s unavailability has done some serious damage to the strategy of his side.

As per the reports in Times of India, Coach of Sunrisers Tom Moody was quoted saying, "Shikhar Dhawan will not be available for our first match but we are keeping his progress in check and I hope he will be back very soon. As per the medical reports, it might take him a couple of weeks’ time.”

Shikhar Dhawan, who recently played a swashbuckling knock on his debut against Australia and with that smashing innings, he became the fastest centurion on debut. Though, on the fourth day of the third test, he sustained an injury while fielding around the boundary.

Meanwhile the reports of Times of India, quoted the Coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad saying, “Preparations are in full flow and the blend of seniors and juniors makes it even better. There has been a lot of interaction between the players and the coaches which gave us the opportunity to understand the players individually and assign them a certain role.”

"Interaction holds the key when you are working with new bunch of players and that’s what the motto of me and Waqar is. We want to make them comfortable with good team meetings and healthy environment in our dressing room.”

According to the reports of The Hindu, Moody was quoted saying that, "International players will turn up in the couple of days and we are really looking forward to that. We respect the BCCI and IPL’s governing council and we will welcome their decisions on the fate of Sri Lankan players in this edition of IPL.”

"Our bowling looks very good and I will make it even better with my bowling tips. Top-quality bowlers like Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma are the trump-cards for our success this season but my job is to take care of young cricketers. VVS Laxman will work on the batting aspects of our batsmen. It looks a promising team to me," Waqar said.
