Mr. Cricket, Mike Hussey, is all set to show his mettle in the sixth edition of IPL. Hussey has been a source of inspiration for many since the time he started batting lower down the order. He will make his appearance of this season against Mumbai Indians on the April 6.
According to the recent reports in The Hindu, Hussey was quoted saying, "I have a soft corner for Chennai and it's like a second home to me. I just want to continue my stint with CSK for at least next two to three years and would like to contribute in every way possible."
His match-winning 24-ball knock of 60 against Pakistan in the semi-finals of the 2010 World Twenty20 stands out as among the best.
His views on exclusion of Sri Lankan players from the Chennai matches was quite clear and he said, "It is a shame because Sri Lankan players have nothing to do with whatever happened in the past. Moreover, Sri Lankans have contributed a lot in IPL and they deserve to be a part of it. Bowlers like Nuwan Kulasekra are more than useful in these conditions"
Meanwhile Hussey was quoted by Indian Express saying, " I had a chat with Dhoni and other CSK teammates before the start of the Test series and I told them I want you to do well but Australia to win. But that didn't happen and Australians simply lost the plot from the opening match itself where Dhoni's double ton not only changed the course of the match but also the attitude of Indian team."
As per the recent reports in Times of India, Mr. Cricket was quoted saying, "It is not easy to perform in the Indian conditions. You never know which ball will knock you over and which way it will turn. Crucial thing is to net let go off the crucial starts you get on these wickets and to have a good short selection is must."
Hussey was going gaga over Michael Clarke and was quoted saying, "Clarke is very clear in his mind and knows very well that what is good for the team which is the most important thing as a leader. But filling the void that is left after Ricky Ponting stepped down from the captaincy is not so easy. It will take sometime to get back Aussies on the winning track till that time we just need to be patient.
Mr. Cricket is looking all geared-up to win the IPL for the third time for CSK and is ready to give his everything to make CSK finish at the top.
