It’s Watson’s call if he wants to bowl or not: Hodge

Shane Watson may not be able to bowl in the sixth season of IPL according to his Rajasthan Royals (RR) teammate Brad Hodge on Sunday. Hodge said Watson would take the final call and they were in no mood of pressurizing him. Watson restricted himself from bowling in the recent series against India because of his back-trouble. He wants himself to be 100 percent fit for Ashes series.

According to the recent reports in Indian Express, Hodge was quoted saying, "I think may be from fourth match he might start hitting the deck but as of now I don’t see him bowling. We are making a different strategy for that scenario. But I would love to see him bowl once again for Royals. “

As per the recent reports in Times of India, Hodge was quoted saying, “The positivity that carries with him is just enough to raise the moral of the whole team. His aggressive stroke play has always been beneficial for us and I hope this time also he will keep the momentum going.”

Hodge added, "He had left behind whatever happened with him before the third test against the India. His heart still beats for the Royals and that’s what makes him so special. He is the team-player."

Meanwhile, Hodge was quoted by The Hindu saying that, "I don't think exclusion of Sri-Lankan players from Chennai matches will hurt our chances as it’s just a matter of one game for which Kusal Perera have to sit out. We have very good bench strength and that’s why it doesn’t look problematic to me. It will not even do any favor to Chennai Super Kings as for every team it’s just a one game they are dropping the player. We will have to play against fellow Australians but would like them to do well till our Rajasthan Royals win the match.”
