Gautam Gambhir, who has been out of favours with the selectors and was dropped from the Indian squad, has made one thing crystal clear that IPL will not be the parameter for his comeback into the national team.
According to the recent reports in The Times of India, Gautam Gambhir said, "I believe in teamwork rather than on individual performance. Being a defending champion, fans are having a lot of expectations from us and I hope we will live up to that expectations. I think rest should be given to the talks of my comeback if I perform well in this season of IPL.”
“We have to do something what we had done in past to lift the trophy for the second consecutive time. It gives tons of confidence to all the players of Kolkata knight Riders (KKR) ,” said captain of KKR.
According to the recent reports in The Hindu, Gautam was quoted saying, “Eden has always been a happy hunting ground for us and we would like to continue our good run on our home ground. Winning the first match means a lot as it raises the mood in the dressing room and gives a lot of boost to players to keep the winning-momentum going.”
He added, “We will be surely missing the service of Brendon McCullum who has done well in the last edition but we have very good players who can fill that void for KKR and can give much better results.”
