David Hussey is looking for the turn-around this season because he thinks of the duo Adam Gilchrist and Darren Lehmann have the ability to spell the magic to change the fortunes of the Kings XI Punjab and lead them to their maiden title win this season. Gilchrist and Lehmann played a pivotal role in leading Deccan Chargers to the title triumph in 2009 and that’s why Hussey feels that they can get the best out of the Kings XI.
According to the recent reports in Indian Express, Hussey was quoted saying, "With the loads of experience Gilchrist and Lehmann carries with them, it makes us feel so much better that this time we can turn the tables. They had a good run during the second edition of IPL and we are looking forward to replicating the same story."
"Gilchrist is a stupendous player. The way he can thrash the opponents all over the park is something that’s not easy to do. He is a great asset for our batting line up, the more he scores the better it would be for team. He can change the course of the game in just matters of the seconds and add to it his wicket-keeping ability; he is a true gem of the cricketing world,” Hussey was quoted by Times of India.
Kings XI Punjab always started their journey from a losing note in all the five editions of IPL but Hussey looks confident of not letting the history repeat itself.
Meanwhile according to the recent reports in The Hindu, Hussey was quoted saying, “Playing away games is always a tough task as we are not aware of conditions but against Pune warriors we would love to start on a winning note in our first game on April 7. With the good mixture of local and overseas players, we have that ability to win on a consistent basis. Gilchrist and Lehmann had that charm in their strategies of making us dudes from duds.”
