Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has urged to the selection panel of Australian team that they should go in with the two spinners in the upcoming four-match Test series against India. The first Test of the four match test series will start from February 22.
According to the reports in Deccan Chronicle, Lyon was quoted saying that, “The conditions are very different in the sub-continent and it’s going to be a tough series against India. We have seen that India had gone with four spinners against England in Nagpur Test. So there is a very good chance that we might go with couple of spinners in upcoming series.”
Lyon further added,” I am looking forward to play the same trick what Graeme Swann did against India. I have followed their bowling style and looking forward to exploit my learning.”
As per the reports of The Hindu, Nathan Lyon was quoted saying, “I have seen the way Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann had bowled against Indian batsmen. I have been here for T20 stuff, so playing longer format will be different but this time it will be a bigger challenge and it is going to be a great learning curve for the whole team.”
Steve Smith, Xavier Doherty, Nathan Lyon and Glen Maxwell are the four spinners in the Australian squad. When Lyon was asked about that, he said, “So it is a good challenge for all of us for pushing each other along for a spot in first Test side. I hope we select best playing eleven for the first Test match against the India.”
