Pakistan T20 captain Mohammad Hafeez said that he is ready to take on Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is a very experienced captain, says a report in The DNA.
“There is no doubt that MS Dhoni’s experience as a captain is higher than us, more than mine or of Misbah-ul-Haq. At the international level it is important you handle pressure and as far as captaincy is concerned, I will try my level best not to play with any pressure and I will convey the same message to the boys,” he said.
On the bilateral series, Hafeez said, “This is special. This is the first experience of a Pakistan-India series, a five-game series. I am looking forward to it personally.”
Hafeez said that the series is a short series but is a start, “We know it is a short tour and there is only T20s and ODIs, but it is a new fresh journey. It is a great opportunity for the youngsters to come here, feel the pressure, see the crowd and its response and play well. I think the next time it will also include Test matches between the two teams.”
Meanwhile, The Indian Express report that Hafeez hoped that cricket will return to Pakistan.
"We wish cricket returns to Pakistan soon and some of our youngsters get a chance to play in front of home crowd," he said.
On veteran Shahid Afridi's chances of making a comeback into Pakistan's ODI squad, Hafeez said, “Afridi is a tough guy and I am sure he will wriggle out of the crisis. He is taking it positively and as a challenge. His preparation for the Twenty20 matches is excellent.”
