Sachin should have retired after the India Pakistan ODI series: Inzamam

Legendary Pakistan batsman Inzamamul Haq said that Sachin Tendulkar should have announced his retirement after the Pak-India series, says a report in the DNA.

Inzamam said Sachin's early retirement has marked the end of a golden period of the game.

“Sachin, who announced his retirement from One-Day International cricket on Sunday, is the most prolific run scorer of 18,426 in ODIs and almost 15,470 in Tests. The legendary batsman has served Indian cricket for more than two decades,” says the report.

Meanwhile, The Indian Express report says that Sachin Tendulkar said the "love and support" brought tears to his eyes.

"Words are not enough to express my thanks to each of you for all the love & support I have received over the years...& especially now in the last couple of days. Your expressions have brought joy to my heart...& at times a tear to my eye!" Tendulkar wrote on his twitter page.

"...Those magical moments of our ODI journey will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you so much :-)," he said.
