Former England opener and TV commentator Geoffrey Boycott said that Sachin Tendulkar has enough experience and maturity to get back among runs, says a report in The Times of India.
"As cricketers we all have to make runs. It is the nature of the game that bowlers will take wickets. There is no difference whether you are 21 or 39. He has got enough experience and maturity to do it. He just needs some runs," Boycott said.
Boycott said that India have the home advantage going into the third Test, “Both teams are in very good form. England's spinners are slightly better. But then you have the home advantage. You are used to the conditions. But I don't think that anybody can say for sure that India is going to win,” he said.
Both teams have won one game each. “India won easily because of a wonderful batting from Pujara while England batted badly. They began believing in their own publicity in the newspapers. They didn't look at their own players whereby Gambhir was not in the best of form. Sachin also is not in very good form. Yuvraj never had a good Test record. They got a shock when England bowled pretty well," Boycott said.
Meanwhile, the DNA reports that Sachin Tendulkar seems to be dividing the nation – those who choose with their heads asking him to go, and those who decide with their hearts urging him to stay.
“This is an unfamiliar position for Sachin; the darling of millions faced with the gathering discontent of those same millions. Most of us, as we grow older discover how friends sometimes turn against us – but not on this scale and with such force,” says the report.
