MSD RN Racing team, owned by Indian cricket team skipper Mahenrdra Singh Dhoni made its mark in the very first season with a podium finish.
A report in The Times of India says that in the final race of the Supersport Championship 2012, a support race for the WSC, at the gruelling Magny Cours track in France on Sunday, the team's rider Dan Linfoot finished a creditable third.
Riding a Kawasaki ZX-6R, 24 year old Briton had a remarkable race who was knocked off by an attempted pass from eventual champion Kenan Sofuoglu, and had to restart the race.
He managed to finish fourth, but Sofuoglu was penalised 25 seconds for the collision, paving the way for Linfoot to make it to the podium.
MSD Racing entered the WSC midway through the season, making its debut on July 20 at Brno, Czech Republic, which was the 10th race of the 17-race Championship.
Besides Linfoot, 19-year-old French racer Florian Marino, previously with British Superbike Team, is the other rider in the team.
