Unmukt Chand who led the Indian U-19 side in the World Cup said that he doesn’t like to imitate other players, says a report in The Times of India.
"I want to model myself", said Chand when asked whether he would like to model himself on Sachin or Dravid.
Chand is in the India A squad that will go to New Zealand for three unofficial ODIs and two unofficial Tests said, “I spoke to many senior players. I also interacted with Virat, it helps.”
"I have got India A tour to New Zealand coming up and I am preparing for it. I want to do well in the tour. Getting selected for India is not in my mind," Chand added.
Meanwhile, former Australian captain Greg Chappell wrote in his column in The Hindu that Unmukt Chand’s innings in the U-19 World Cup final showed his class and Chand will hope that he can follow the footsteps of Virat Kohli who led the U-19 team to World Cup glory in 2008.
Chappell wrote that apart from Chand, left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh and Manan Vohra, who was injured and did not play the under-19 CWC are the players who are promising cricketers.
