Lakshmipathy Balaji is making a comeback into the Indian squad after three long years. Balaji who is in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup said that the gap has not made his rusty and he is ready to go, says a report in Business Line.
The long lay-off did not rust my skills in any way. It’s been a competitive three years in IPL and Ranji Trophy as well as some other first-class matches,” said Balaji.
Balaji who is working under the guidance of Bowling Coach Dawes said that he will stick to his natural game.
“He has been working on my strengths. I have to recreate what comes to me naturally”, said Balaji.
Meanwhile, DNA reports Balaji saying that Indian team will not be rusty going into the T20 World Cup.
"We have two warm-up matches in the run up to the World Twenty20 and we have been training very hard," Balaji said.
On him being part of the playing eleven, he said, “I have no idea about the composition of the playing XI for tomorrow's match.”
“Every match is important. It's an honour to represent your country and I am looking forward to deliver 100 per cent on the day. For past three years, ever day I would get up and tell myself that I have to play for the country”, he added.
