‘Hockey India should manage all affairs involving the game’, Special Committee’s recommendation to IOA

The Special Committee set up by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to solve the tussle between two hockey organizations of India, Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation recommended that Hockey India should manage the affairs, says a report in The Hindu.

“The decision was unanimous. We have been impartial. After studying the reports submitted by the both the parties, we found that HI met all the statutes set by FIH”, said Indian Wrestling Federation’s former president G.S. Mander, one of the committee members.

“We gave IHF three chances to present their case in person but no official from their side attended. They did submit their records though. The IHF did not have a unified body to run the men’s and women’s competitions whereas HI has a single body that conducts competitions in both”, he added.

Meanwhile, The Indian Hockey Federation along with Nimbus announced the dates of the World Series Hockey season two, says a report in The Times of India.

The tournament will be played from December 15 to January 20, 2013.

"As of now, the format would more or less be the same, but we shall take a final call later", Nimbus COO Yannick Colaco said.
