Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal said that she wants people to remember her efforts in the Olympics rather than finding fault in the way she won the bronze medal, says a report in The Times of India.
"I would be happy if an Indian wins a medal and I only hope people are happy that I did. It's my job to win a medal for the country. When people talk that way, I don't feel good. I couldn't believe it when I heard some people say those things.”
On how her life has changed after winning the medal she said, “"I do feel I've become a star. This has all been possible because of my parents' hard work, the efforts of my coaches and also the sponsors who helped me reach this level. It is important to be free to play well and everything should be taken care of. In my case, I was free to play my sport and not worry about anything else. That is why I have been performing well in the last three or four years.”
On her career in Bollywood, Saina said, “I'm doing well in badminton. I'm happy with what I'm doing. I'll perhaps think about Bollywood later."
Meanwhile, Saina Nehwal congratulated the way P. Kashyap played at the Olympics. Kashyap played really well, he has improved a lot. In my first Olympics, I also made the quarterfinals. It gave me a lot of confidence”, Saina was quoted saying in The Hindu.
