Star Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh may make a comeback into the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka when the selectors choose the 15-strong team in Mumbai, says a report in The Times of India.
Yuvraj has been out of action and is all set for a cpmeback after he sucessfully fought a rare germ cancer. The report says that the selectors plans to bring him back in the national team through T20s.
Yuvraj’s fitness report will be studies by the selectors at the meetings. Yuvraj has been training at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and has expressed confidence that he will be picked for T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, a report in the Indian Express says that apart from the squad for the T20 World Cup, the team for the series against New Zealand, starting August 23, and the India A squad for the tour of New Zealand will also be announced.
The biggest problem for Selectors in picking the Tets team will be the fotm of VVS Laxman. Laxman performed badly in the England and Australia tour and it was speculated that he may announce his retirement. But that has not happen and selectors will have to decide that whether they want to continue with VVS or they wan’t some new playrs in the team.
Another major problem for selectors will be to pick a replacement for Rahul Dravid, who has been a prolific run-scorer for India at number three position.
