Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal who made the entire nation proud by winning the bronze medal at the London Olympics said that she still can’t believe that she got the medal, says a report in The Hindustan Times.
“I still can't believe that I have won a medal. I never believed that India could win a medal in badminton because the competition is so tough. It is a dream come true for me”, said Saina.
She added, “I had trained hard and there was a lot of expectation. I initially thought that she was just taking rest as she was tiring out, but then I realised she was injured. It's sad that she got injured, but I was confident of beating her as I was coming into rhythm.”
Meanwhile, The Economic Times report about the rivalry between Saina Nehwal and the Chinese players. Saina on the competition said, “" Yes, it's always about Saina and China. I'm more confident now. I defeated about six-seven of them in the past few months and they are scared of me, very scared of me. It's a great feeling. I can see it in their eyes. I just have to stay fit, be ready for long rallies, long matches and fight till the end. They don't give up but even I don't. They know that now."
