Times of India writes that King XI Punjab spinner Piyush Chawla is against the popular notion that spinners play a containing role in limited over cricket believes taking wicket is the only way to go especially in T-20 cricket. According to Chawla, batsmen in T20 format do not have much time and if a spinner tries to stop runs he would be hammered for runs, so he always thinks of taking wickets whenever he is asked to bowl.
In an interview to Mail Today Delhi Daredevil all rounder Irfan Pathan said that he is always happy to play cricket and it has been a pretty good feeling in the last three matches, where he did not go for many runs and he was getting good swing. I feel it is just a matter of time before I get wickets too. The zip I want to generate in my bowling has been there, which is why batsmen have not able to take too many runs off me. I have been able to bowl a few maidens but we all want to take wickets. The question I ask myself is: How am I contributing to the team? I’m an all- rounder, and I can bat at 5, 6 or 7, or wherever the team needs me. My job is to take wickets, bowl well and score runs,” Irfan was quoted as saying by Mail Today.
