Sehwag heaps praise on Ganguly, says he turned around the game for Pune Warriors

 

Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag feels that it was Sourav Ganguly who was responsible for changing the course of the match between Delhi Daredevils and Pune Warriors Indians. According to The Hindu, Sehwag heaped praise on Ganguly who led the show with his all round efforts (41 runs and two wickets) to lead help Pune register a 20 runs victory over the Daredevils on Saturday night. “The way we were batting at one point of time, the match could have turned in our favour by the 16th over. But Dada (Ganguly) took the wickets of (Kevin) Pietersen and Irfan Pathan to change the game,” The Hindu quoted Sehwag as saying.

 

A Times of India reports says that Mumbai Indian bowler Munaf Patel has been fined 50% of his match fee for making offensive gestures to Punjab’s batsmen Nitin Saini in their match on Sunday night. After being hit for two fours by Saini, Munaf lost his cool and hurled verbal volleys to the batsman and it required the on field umpires and Mumbai skippers Harbhajan Singh’s intervention to stop him. Patel was fined for the Level 1 offences - making offensive gestures (Article 2.1.4) and conduct bringing the game into disrepute (Article 2.1.8).

 

A report in Mail Today says that Royal Challengers Bangalore would be looking forward to extend their winning run in the tournament when they take on Rajasthan Royals on Monday and their skipper Daniel Vettori feels that they are not thinking about their previous defeat to the Rajasthan outfit and after they have great players in their armory which can beat any team.

 

According to a report in The Hindustan Times stand in skipper of Kings XI Punjab David Hussey said that it was the run out of Dinesh Karthik that has turned the yesterday’s match in their favor on Sunday. Karthik had already put up a 75 runs partnership with James Franklin and was batting at an individual score of 35 of 20 deliveries before he was run out.
