Chris Gayle once again showed why he is considered to be such a destructive force in IPL.
Deccan Herald report says, that for the second consecutive time Royal Challengers Bangalore came back from behind and both the time it was Chris Gayle who scripted the run-chase. Kings XI setup a good total of 163 for the loss of six wickets and was at a very good position as their new inclusion Parvinder Awana struck thrice to leave the Bangalore team reeling at a score of 25/3.
After the fall of three early wickets two international players gained control of the situation reports The Times of India. Gayle was cautious early in his innings and it took him 40 balls to reach the 50 run landmark. Meanwhile, de Villiers on the other hand kept the required run-rate under control and did not kept the partnership moving at a fast pace. The moment Gayle reached his half-century he cut loose as his innings ended on a 56 balls 87.
The record partnership of 131 runs in just 76 deliveries won Royal Challengers Bangalore the match against Kings XI Punjab, reports The Hindu.
Bangalore were in trouble after losing three early wickets but both these batsmen put their head down and played according to the situation. Gayle cut out the risky shots and tried rotating the strike. The South African captain looked in great touch as his innings of 52 included six boundaries.
Kings XI may have lost the game but they still have some positives coming out of their defeat against the Royal Challengers from Bangalore.
Parvinder Awana who was playing just his second IPL match bowled superbly upfront and took three wickets to put Punjab on top, reports The Indian Express.
Awana got the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli in his first over and dismissed Saurabh Tiwary in his third over.
