Sri Lanka make merry

New Delhi: Sri Lanka registered the first victory of the SAFF Championship when they outplayed Bhutan 3-0 in the second match on Saturday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Mi Mohamed Zain scored the first goal for the Lankans in the 29th minute only for Man-of-the-match Nipuna Bandara to double the lead six minutes later. At the interval, Sri Lanka enjoyed a two-goal cushion. Bhandara completed the rout in the 65th minute.

The Lankans were deserving winners as for most part of the match, it was one-way traffic. Courtsey the victory, the Lankans now top Group A with 3 points from 1 match while India and Afghanistan stay on one point apiece.
