The Haryana girls who are popular with the crowd did what was expected of them as they kept it as simple as possible striking twice in the first half and adding one more goal in the second to seal the fate of BKSP. Nisha opened the account in the 20th minute and six minutes later Smiksha consolidated before Sushma rounded it off with a clean placing in the 56th minute. BKSP was completely pushed on the back foot as was evident from their approach to the match today.
After the two barren halves, the issue was settled through penalty shootout in which Meghalaya came up trumps asNisha,Phila, Ibashisha and AntihunMajawscored for winners while onlySoni, Suman and Subhadra managed to covert for SAI.
Earlier, the two teams played cautiously and keeping their citadels heavily guarded. Whatever little chance that came were not put into account as the teams were determined not to press hard for a winner in the regulation time.
