Bengaluru FC forward C.K. who has been an unsung hero for the Blues this season has credited all his success to skipper Sunil Chhetri for his fine display this season which saw him lifting the Hero I-League trophy this year.
Bengaluru FC beat Salgaocar by 2-0 to lift their second Hero I-League title in three year and Vineeth has been an integral part of the squad scoring 4 goals in the Hero I-League this season.
“Sunil always has been special to me. When Bengaluru FC contacted me, I called him up first to seek his guidance. He's like an elder brother to me and I always feel free to go to him as he always helps us out with a smiling face. I would rate Sunil as one of the best captains I have played under and I am looking forward to learn a lot from him,” Said the 27 year old forward from Kerala.
Bengaluru FC are on course for winning a treble this year as the club is still very much in the contention in AFC Cup and with Federation Cup starting later this month where they enter as the defending champions.
Speaking on the long season ahead C.K. Vineeth said, “This is a very crucial period of the season right now. We are taking one step at a time as all the tournaments as equally important for us. We are looking forward to an exciting time and I have full faith in the team.”
Bengaluru FC will now travel to Siliguri to face Mohun Bagan where they will lift the Hero I-League trophy as champions of the 2015-16 season.
