Chandigarh: Gurkirat Singh (60) and Gitash Khera (54) of Punjab put up an impressive performance with the bat to take Punjab to a respectable position in final match against Delhi at the close of day one of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy. Punjab finished with a score of 261 for five at stumps.
Batting first,Punjab lost their openers Jeevanjot(11) and Kunwar Raina (22) in quick succession. Himanshu Chawla and Pargat Singh tried to maintain a partnership, but bowling side routed out their two players with Himanshu scoring 21 runs and Pargat scoring 78.
Gitash Khera and Gurkirat Singh stayed at the crease for the score of 261-5, before the end of day one. For Delhi: Sunny Sehrawat, Varun Sood took two wickets each while Vikram Dahiya took 1 for 55.
