Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the first person to be the Wisden India Almanack Cricketer of the Year for the second time, named in the book’s fifth edition released at the Jaipur Literature Festival by Bishan Singh Bedi, the former India captain, on January 23.
Kohli, who had a terrific run in 2016 across all the three formats, has been leading the side from the front, scoring most of the runs and his captaincy skills have been brilliant.
Apart from the recently concluded T20 series against England, Kohli has been a delight to watch. His wins in Sri Lanka, West Indies on their home turf and big wins against New Zealand, South Africa and England at home have as been highlight of his captaincy career.
