Hyderabad: Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to bat first in a pitch which was slow and not quite coming onto the bat but played a lot better under lights. Bangalore got off to a bad start by losing Parthiv Patel early, who was soon followed by Chris Gayle in the dressing room and it was upto Kohli and Yuvraj to resurrect the innings. The pair looked good for some time as they added 57 runs for the third wicket before Yuvraj played a false shot to Parvez Rasool giving him his first wicket of the match.
Ab de Divilliers played a brilliant cameo for his team before getting out for 29 as Virat Kohli played a captain’s knock by top scoring for his team. He made 67 off 41 balls and took Bangalore to a more than competitive total of 160 runs in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended up with the best figures for his team by picking up 2 wickets and giving away 27 runs in his 4 overs. Dale Steyn went wicket less by only gave away 23 runs in his 4 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderbad went off to a flying start as they changed the opening pair by bringing Warner up the order with Shikhar Dhawan who seemed to have found his lost touch after being unburdened with captaincy.
The pair kept piling on the runs at a quick pace as they added 100 runs in no time before Dhawan got run out for 50. Warner kept going from the other end and soon completed his half-century. Sunrisers were not looking in any sort of trouble as they kept the required run-rate under control all through out the innings.
The bowlers failed to defend the target as the likes of Varun Aaron and Mitchel Starc kept missing the length while going for yorkers and at the end Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by 7 wickets with a couple of balls to go. Warner top-scored for Hyderabad by scoring 59 runs of 46 balls.
