Mirpur: Giving credit to Sri Lankans for their outstanding performance in the final of ICC World T20 trophy, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Doni said that Sri Lanka executed their plans very well in the last four overs.

"In the middle overs, we tried our best to get going, but we couldn't convert the good start," said Dhoni, adding that India could have always got those 10-15 runs, but cricket was all about those runs.

“They executed their plans very well in the last four overs. Malinga with that slingy action kept bowling it wide. It was a perfect game for them,” Dhoni added.
In all praise for Virat Kohli, Dhoni said that it has been brilliant in the last few years for him. “He is someone who makes most of the opportunity. The good thing is that he plays authentic shots and still scores runs. He is got a bright future ahead of them," the skipper added.

Meanwhile ecstatic about the victory, Sri Lankan skipper Lasith Malinga said that he was really lucky to lead the side in the last three games. “Today, we thought it was Sanga and Mahela's farewell match. The boys thought we needed to do it for them. We bowled the last few overs really well,” he said, adding that it was a pleasure sharing the dressing room with players like Mahela and Sanga. “They are world-class batsmen and it was a good opportunity for us to be able to play with them. They are still playing Tests and ODIs and the younger players need to pick all that they can from the two," he added.
