India ‘A’ lose 2nd Test against South Africa ‘A’Rustenburg: India A suffered a humiliating defeat by 121 runs against South Africa A on the final day of the second unofficial Test at Rustenburg on Tuesday.

 

India were chasing a stiff total of 307 in the final innings but despite having nine wickets and decent experience in batting line-up, India failed to pull off a victory. With this victory, South Africa managed to draw the series by 1-1. The first unofficial Test of the series was won by India as they had defeated the hosts quite comprehensively by an innings and 13 runs.

 

On the penultimate day of the second Test, South Africa A asked India to to bat for few overs as they had posted the total of 5/166 in their second innings. India lost the wicket of Murali Vijay at the end of third day’s play.
 

The Indian top-order was as fragile as it was in the first innings and was reduced to 5/18. But Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Shah grinded themselves in the pressure situation and scored their half-centuries. They added 160 runs for the sixth wicket before Rahane was dismissed for 86. Rahane's dismissal led to the Indian batting collapse and their innings were wrapped up at the score of 185, with Shah remaining unbeaten at 77.

Beuran Hendriks was the wracker-in-chief for South Africa and ended up with the magical figures of 6/27.

SA A won by 121 runs. Series ends 1-1.
