India’s to play five Tests against England

India’s to play five Tests against England for the first time since 1959 next yearMumbai: India and England is looking to revive their rivalry in the old-fashioned way and for that ECB have agreed to play a five-match Test Series, five-match ODI Series and a T20 International match against India. It would be for the first time since 1959 that India would be playing on a full stretched tour of five Tests.

India’s tour to England in 2011 fetched a record number of spectators, of more than 850,000 to international cricket. On that tour, India was handed over 4-0 defeat in Tests and 3-0 in ODI’s.

But things have changed a lot since then and both the teams would be looking to give their best to give crowd a great summer when they will take on each other in about a year’s time.

India’s warm-up games will be hosted by Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Middlesex will host tour matches against India.

Meanwhile the Chief executive of ECB is quite happy with this decision that has been made by the tow powerful Cricketing Boards. He believes that this move will not just improve the cricketing ties but also take the popularity of both the teams at another level. He is expecting this tour of India to be a great success as India kick off their tour with an ODI. He is expecting England to come hard on the team that defeated them in their own backyard and took away the ICC Champions Trophy.
