Our bowling is a cause of concern: Kohli

virat-royal-challengersBangalore: Despite posting a huge target of 174 runs against Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost to the visitors by seven wickets at Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday. Admitting that their bowling was a cause of concern, RCB skipper Virat Kohli said that they desperately needed a win.

“We're in a position where we desperately need one win. It's not a good position to be in, but we just have to do what we have to do," said Kohli, adding that they haven't hit the right areas as a bowling unit and that's something they needed to improve upon.

"We thought 174 was a good total. The first 5-6 overs kept low and slow and getting close to 180 was a good effort. We were waiting for a few big overs and we thought 160-165 was par. But the wicket settled down beautifully in the second innings. We did not expect that and in the end 175 wasn't enough,” said a disappointed captain.

Meanwhile Adam Gilchrist, who got the Man of the Match award for his stupendous knock said that more than him Azhar Mahmood deserved the award. "I'm not sure I'd call it form,” he said about his innings.

"I think Azhar Mahmood deserves this award. He came in and played his natural game. I was trying to play my natural game but was barely clearing the circle. But he helped me loosen up a bit. After the first four overs I thought I had made an error in judgement in bowling. But once the lights came on, it seemed to come on a little better,” said Gilchrist.
