Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up on the happier side after the Super Over at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday and the happiness was quiet evident on the face of RCB skipper Virat Kohli. However Kohli said that they should have won the match with one over to spare.
"This was the fourth last-ball finish for us. Our time had to come in the Super Over I guess. But we should have won with an over to spare,” said Kohli, who also received the man-of-the-match for his stupendous knock.
“Great comeback by Delhi Daredevils and great hits by AB De Villiers to get us back into the game. We needed 26 off 28 when AB got run out and I didnt get strike after that. I would have been really angry if we had lost today. Ravi bowled a great over to pull us back. It was a brilliant effort by the bowlers," said Kohli during the post-match presentation.
A disppointed Mahela Jayawardene said that they just need to cross the line now. "We are getting there. Four overs to go we were not in, but a couple of crucial wickets, we came back into the game. In the super over, the first three-four balls were alright. That shows the character of the team. The guys are fighting and we need to handle those crucial situations better," said the Delhi Daredevils captain.
