Hyderabad: After beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin of 77 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that their last game against Mumbai Indians, which Chennai lost by a huge margin, was a wake up call for them.
“For Hyderabad it's just like the last game where nothing worked for us,” said Dhoni in all praise for Suresh Raina. “Raina was unlucky not to get a 100, but lucky to get to 99. As I said before, we didn't really play the last game. Last game was a good wakeup call for us,” said Dhoni, adding that Michael Hussey has been brilliant throughout the tournament.
“He is among the few cricketers who hasn't changed too much. He does not play too many slogs. The only other batsman to do that is Rahul Dravid for the Rajasthan Royals,” said Dhoni, adding that there might be some changes in the team for the next game, especially in the bowling.
Raina, who got the man of the match award, said that God has been kind to him. “God has been kind. We won the game. Thanks to the fitness trainer, he's been doing a lot of work with us,” said Raina, who was in full praise for Hussey.
“Hussey's been very honest and has been working very hard with all Indian cricketers. It's a good environment in the dressing room. Hope to keep up the good cricket,” added Raina.
Disappointed Hyderabad skipper Kumar Sangakkara said that Dale Steyn bowled the right length but others bowled a bit short and did not get the yorkers out. “We know it's a bad performance. But we cannot think about this one and will just have to move ahead.”
