New Delhi: Having beaten Delhi Daredevils in a thriller at Feroze Shah Kotla on Friday, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, who himself is a Delhi boy and went on to score 99 runs in the match, said that he loved playing on his home ground.
“I love playing on my home ground. It's wonderful to play in front of my home crowd,” said Kohli, admitting that he thought it was the end of his innings when he was caught on Morne Morkel's ball.
“I thought I was gone but then I saw that no-ball. The first boundary got me going. I was nervous when the last over was going on. The way it has gone in the last few games, my beard's graying already!” said Kohli.
Meanwhile, David Warner, who was leading Daredevils, said that he was disappointed to lose at Kotla. “Credit to the way Bangalore batted,” said Warner adding that Kohli got out to Morkel off no-ball but then that's cricket.
Warner said that captaining Daredevils was different from captaining for the Sixers in terms of the crowds. “Always a packed house, which is a good thing.”
Meanwhile Jaidev Unadkat, who was man of the match said that he was happy with the outcome. “Happy to be given the last over,” said Unadkat.
