Chennai: It was against India that Michael Clarke made an impressive debut way back in 2004 and the Australian captain since then has always enjoyed batting against the Indians. He was the one who tormented the India bowling attack when the two teams met last time Down Under and now leading the Aussies, Clarke is all set to tame the lions in their own den in the four-match Test series beginning in Chennai from February 22.
Speaking about the series, Clarke said that it's always exciting for him to come to India as he had always enjoyed playing here. “People of India love the game. For me India is all more special as I began my Test career here. I have many fond memories and now it's more special to come back as a captain,” said Clarke, adding that because of the IPL the comfort level of the players has certainly changed.
“Players now know what the conditions are like when they come to India. The IPL has also been fantastic in that it has built relationships between players all around the world,” said the Aussie skipper.
Talking about his own career, he said that it's been up and down. “I guess I have had some good times, when the team has had a lot of success and I have scored some runs. I have had some tough times as well when I have been dropped from the Test team. But things are going in the right direction now as the team is playing well and I am able to captain Australia,” said Clarke.
