Johannesburg: Mumbai Indians skipper Harbhajan Singh skipper admitted to the fact that their team need to play better cricket after suffering eight wicket defeat at the hands of Highveld Lions in their opening Champions League T20 match here.
"We need to play better cricket. There was a bit of dew, but we can't complain about that,” Harbhajan said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
Harbhajan conceded that Mumbai felt short by 20 runs and they failed to maneuver the bowling. "I think we didn't look to attack their spinners, Phangiso gave away just 17 runs and took the prize wicket of Sachin Tendulkar while Dirk Nannes got away with just 15 runs off his four overs."
Bhajji also credited the opponent team and sadi that Lions were a deserving winner in the match. "McKenzie played superbly, along with another youngster. Overall Lions they were much better than us. They know the conditions better than us and the credit goes to them."
