Rohtak: Akhil Kumar, International boxer and Arjuna Awardee, is rendering his name to a boxing club, which will be inaugurated at Choturam Nagar (near Sukhpura Chowk), Rohtak on Saturday.
Member of Parliament Deepender Hooda will be the chief guest and will inaugurate the club on January 14. Haryana Sports Minister Sukhbir Kataria, Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra, IAS officer Vikas Gupta will also grace the occasion.
“Akhil Kumar Boxing Club & Fitness Society has been formed in order to take boxing to greater heights, with a view to recognize the existing talent and to create new talent. This is an ambitious project and need to create an excellent environment to train the future winners,” said a press release from the organisers.
Society General Secretary as well as the chief trainer Subodh Kumar informed that Deepender Hooda has committed to provide boxing kits and various equipments to the club.
