Nagoya, September 25: Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh won India’s second gold medal of the Asian Games 2026 on Friday, taking the 10m air pistol mixed team title with an Asian record score of 484.6.
It was a busy day for India in Aichi-Nagoya. The men’s 50m rifle three positions team won silver, both kabaddi teams reached their finals and the women’s hockey team booked a semi-final place.
Gold and silver on the range
Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar and Rudrankksh Patil scored 1762-94x for silver in the men’s 50m rifle three positions team event. China won gold with 1766-95x and South Korea took bronze with 1751-87x.
Aishwary (589) and Niraj (588) also qualified for the individual final in third and fourth place.
Kabaddi teams one win from gold
The men’s team beat Thailand 66-28 in their semi-final after leading 37-18 at half-time. India inflicted eight all-outs to Thailand’s two and picked up 15 bonus points.
The defending champion women’s team beat Nepal 48-24, leading 31-17 at the break. Sanju Devi and Sonali held the defence together.
Both finals are on Saturday, September 26. The opponent in each will be Iran or Chinese Taipei.
Table tennis and hockey
Manush Shah and Diya Chitale beat world No 4 pair Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem of Hong Kong, China 11-6, 13-15, 11-9, 11-5 in mixed doubles.
In women’s hockey, India beat hosts Japan 3-1 for a fourth straight win and a place in the semi-finals. On Thursday, the men’s team beat South Korea 8-2.
Seema ends 16-year wait
The day came after Seema won bronze in the women’s 10,000m on Thursday at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium. Her time of 32:50.05 gave India their first medal in the event in 16 years and their first athletics medal of these Games.
The same evening India’s mixed 4x400m relay team won silver.

After Friday’s shooting medals, India have 19 medals: two gold, eight silver and nine bronze.
