Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, October 1, 2026: Saptak Talwar followed his opening 66 with a two-under 68 on Thursday to sit tied seventh at six-under 134 after two rounds of the men’s individual golf event at the Asian Games 2026.
The 27-year-old, who leads the DP World PGTI Order of Merit, made five birdies and three bogeys at the par-70 East Course of Kasugai Country Club. He is three shots off the lead.
Chinese Taipei’s Wei-hsuan Wang and China’s Wenyi Ding share first place at nine-under 131.
Pranavi Urs stays second in women’s event
Pranavi Urs added a 63 to her first-round 66 and is second at 11-under 129, two shots behind the leader.
Diksha Dagar is tied 21st at four-over 144 and Aditi Ashok tied 25th at five-over 145.
India’s women are third in the team event at seven-under 273, five shots off the lead.
Ahlawat and Sandhu in the chasing pack
Veer Ahlawat, the 2024 DP World PGTI Order of Merit champion, shot 68 after an opening 71 and is tied 16th at one-under 139. His second round had five birdies, three of them in a row, and three bogeys.
Yuvraj Sandhu, the 2025 Order of Merit winner, carded 71 and 69 to be tied 22nd at even-par 140. He made three birdies and two bogeys on Thursday.
The Indian men are fifth in the team event at seven-under 273. Japan lead on 16-under 264.
Format
The men’s competition has 66 players and is played over 72 holes. Team scores are worked out from the best two individual scores from each country in every round.
