Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, 3 October 2026: India’s men’s golf team finished sixth at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday, while Veer Ahlawat and Saptak Talwar ended tied sixth in the men’s individual event at the Kasugai Country Club East Course.
The day belonged to India’s women. Pranavi Urs won the individual gold, the first Indian woman golfer to do so at the Asian Games, and the women’s team took silver.
Men’s team sixth, Ahlawat and Talwar tied sixth
Ahlawat, Talwar and Yuvraj Sandhu totalled 18-under 542 for sixth place in the team event. China won gold at 28-under 532, South Korea took silver at 26-under 534 and Japan claimed bronze at 23-under 537.
In the individual event, Talwar (66-68-71-66) and Ahlawat (71-68-65-67) both finished at nine-under 271. Talwar’s closing 66 included six birdies and a double bogey. Ahlawat’s 67 had five birdies and two bogeys.
Sandhu (71-69-71-70) closed with an even-par 70 to finish tied 24th at one-over 281.
South Korea’s Joohyung Kim won gold at 18-under 262. Japan’s Kazuki Higa, Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana and China’s Wenyi Ding were tied on 15-under 265, and a play-off gave the silver to Higa and the bronze to Kaewkanjana.
Pranavi Urs wins gold, women’s team take silver
Pranavi (66-63-66-70) closed with an even-par 70 that had three birdies and a triple bogey. She finished at 15-under 265, one shot clear of the field.
Her scores also carried India to silver in the team event with Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar. India finished on 14-under 546, eight shots behind winners China. Aditi was 14th individually at two-over 282 and Diksha tied 23rd at 12-over 292.
