Dubai, 28 October 2026: Abhishek Sharma is back at No. 1 in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings after his 35-ball century against New Zealand in Wellington on Tuesday.

The left-handed India opener takes the top spot from team-mate Ishan Kishan, who had held it for four months and now drops to third. It is Abhishek’s second spell at No. 1. He first reached the top in July 2025 and stayed there until June this year.

Samson, Arshdeep and Prince Yadav also move up

Several India players gained ground after the ongoing series in New Zealand. Sanju Samson climbed six places to 20th among batters.

In the bowling list, Arshdeep Singh rose six places to 15th and Prince Yadav jumped 19 places to 83rd.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner moved up seven places to seventh among bowlers. Finn Allen gained three places to 25th and Glenn Phillips 20 places to 37th in the batting table.

Jansen tops two Test lists

In the Test rankings, South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen is now No. 1 among both bowlers and all-rounders. He made 85 and took five for 33 and one for 34 as South Africa beat Australia by an innings and 31 runs in the second match of their ICC World Test Championship series.

Jansen also climbed 13 places to 56th among batters. He is the first South Africa bowler at No. 1 since Kagiso Rabada in November 2024, and the first from his country to top the all-rounders’ list since Vernon Philander in August 2014.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma’s 179 in the same match lifted him four places to a career-best second among Test batters, behind England’s Harry Brook. Australia’s Scott Boland rose three places to sixth among bowlers after taking five for 81, while Wiaan Mulder moved up 10 places to 43rd.

Brook, Duckett and Shadab climb in ODIs

England’s Ben Duckett and Harry Brook each moved up six places in the ODI batting rankings, to seventh and eighth, after their innings in the tri-series in Pakistan that also includes Sri Lanka. Duckett made 105 against Pakistan and Brook hit the fastest double century in ODIs against Sri Lanka, but England lost both games.

Shadab Khan’s unbeaten 113 in Pakistan’s one-run win over England in Lahore took him up 32 places to 92nd. Sri Lanka’s Janith Liyanage (14th), Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza (20th), Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus (45th) and the Netherlands’ Max O’Dowd (55th) also climbed.

Among ODI bowlers, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai rose 13 places to seventh and Namibia’s Vernard Scholtz nine places to eighth. Sri Lanka’s Dumith Wellalage moved to 19th and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi to 27th. Nabi also climbed five places to third among all-rounders.

Abhishek was last at the top of the T20I list alongside Kishan, when India held the top two places.
