Hua Hin: India’s junior team in boys’ category comprising Aadil Bedi and Kartik Sharma finished at 4th position, five shots behind shot more than Denmark, in the Singha World Junior held at Hua Hin in Thailand on Sunday. Team Philippines won the overall championship in boys AB Category.
Kartik Sharma finished 6th with a total of298 (77,73,76 and 72), while 15-year-old Aadil Bedi from Chandigarh finished at 9th position. He shot 77,79 ,75 and 75 with a total 306.
Aidric Jose of Philippine won the overall Championship in individual category and in the team event.
In the Girls’ Section Anika Verma of B category finished 2nd runners up with the score of 81, 77, 80 and 75 with a total of 313. Amrita Anand also finished at creditable 9th position with the score of 86, 71, 78 and 79 with a total of 307. Team India girls finished at 5th position in AB category.
Aadil said, “I will work on finer points with his coach Jesse Grewal for one week. Then I will play Maharashtra Junior at BPGC Mumbai next week. I will then participate in the PGTI’s CG Professional Open Championship at the same venue. This experience in high pressure games is very valuable and just happening at right time for me.”
