Ahmedabad, 23 October 2026: Indian amateur Arin Ahuja won the DP World PGTI Qualifying School 2026-27 by one shot on Friday, closing with an even-par 72 at the Kensville Golf & Country Club.

The 22-year-old from Noida, playing Q-School for the first time, finished on three-under 285 (70-73-70-72). India’s Vedant Sirohi (71-71-73-71) and Bangladesh’s Md Siddikur Rahman (69-73-71-73) tied for second on two-under 286.

Eagle on the 14th turns it round

Ahuja started the day tied second, a shot off the lead. He struggled with his irons early and dropped three shots in the first five holes, but saved par from 10 to 15 feet on the seventh and eighth to stay in contention.

On the 14th he hit a strong approach and holed from 12 feet for eagle. Long birdie putts followed on the 15th and 17th to put him in front, and a bogey on the last did not cost him the title.

“I made a poor start today but I’m proud of the way I kept my cool and fought back towards the end,” said Ahuja, who thanked his coach Rahul Bajaj. “After the eagle on the 14th, I knew I had a good chance to win. My putting was the key to my success this week.”

The son of an Army officer, Ahuja won one junior title and was ranked India’s No. 2 amateur in 2024. He said the win had convinced him to turn professional very soon.

Forty-eight cards handed out

The final-round cut fell at 15-over 203, with the top 48 players earning full cards for the 2026-27 DP World PGTI season. They include four amateurs and five overseas players, four from Bangladesh and one from Sri Lanka.

Chandigarh’s Shaurya Sharma had led by one after a third-round 67, with Ahuja and Siddikur a shot behind. Earlier in the week, Aditya Bhandarkar led at the halfway stage.

The new season starts with the IndianOil SERVO Masters in Digboi, Assam, from 17 to 20 November 2026.
