London: A Big Dance week across the world is being organised from July 7 to 15 as part of the celebrations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In Beijing July 7, a total of 2000 dancers will gather on the Central Square of Beijing Olympic Park to take part in the Big Dance to celebrate the legacy of the 2008 Beijing Games, and the coming London Games.
Dancers will do the same in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro, the next Olympic city in 2016, reported Xinhua.
Documentaries made of the Rio and Beijing events, will be screened at the finale of the Big Dance Olympic events in London's Trafalgar Square July 15.
Tamara Rojo, global ambassador for Big Dance and the principal ballerina of London's Royal Ballet, said that the Big Dance is the integral part of cultural Olympiad.
"It involves dance activities from everywhere and from all kinds of dances, folklore, classical ballet, break-dance, hip-hop, everything you can imagine," Rojo said. (IANS)
